Infrastructure Alternatives has the capability to bring three distinct technical and professional services to bear on complex dredging projects: diverse dredging experience, water and wastewater systems operation and sediment disposal including beneficial reuse alternatives. The unique combination of these capabilities allows us to successfully address technically complex and challenging dredging projects with integrated technical skills. Infrastructure Alternatives offers expertise in both:
|
| ENVIRONMENTAL DREDGING |
|
Infrastructure Alternatives utilizes hydraulic dredges fitted with sophisticated positioning equipment in the execution of environmental dredging projects. When governed by these electronic control devices, hydraulic dredges are particularly accurate in the minimization of over-dredge and sediment dispersion. Hydraulic dredging of contaminated marine sediments can also be seamlessly integrated with geotextile tube dewatering in one flow-through process. Infrastructure Alternatives has pioneered this practice which has demonstrated:
-
Effective removal of contamination from bodies of water
-
Support for high dredge production rates
-
Successful capture of contaminated sediment, separating entrained water which can be treated as needed and discharged back into the water body
-
Reduced sediment disposal costs
Our accumulated project experience has proved that applying a combination of technical competencies to project execution significantly increases the likelihood of success. Whether your environmental dredging project requires initial treatability analysis, pilot studies or a full turn-key contract, Infrastructure Alternatives can complete every element of the assignment.

| NAVIGATIONAL DREDGING |
|
Infrastructure Alternatives is equipped to perform mechanical or hydraulic dredging, or any combination thereof, in the execution of a navigational or maintenance dredging project. Selection of a dredging method is based on both economical and environmental considerations.
We approach navigational dredging with sensitivity to the local community. Disruption of use is kept to a minimum. Lighted buoys and markers are used to clearly identify submerged pipelines and signage is used to inform the public of dredging activities. Silt curtains are used to keep turbidity down. Operations are as clean, neat and quiet as possible.
Navigational dredging can be paired with sediment dewatering services for beneficial use and the minimization of disposal costs.
